Strategic Planning for Gallaudet's Future: 2010-2015

Colleges and universities in the 21st century face shifting demographics, a tightening economy, and the evolving needs of an increasingly global workforce.

Gallaudet's Board of Trustees called for the creation of a new five-year strategic plan by May 2009 to guide us through the dramatic changes occurring both in higher education and among tomorrow’s population of deaf and hard of hearing students.

Dozens of Gallaudet's stakeholders have worked together to develop a draft plan designed to propel our university to the next level of excellence by the year 2015, laying a solid foundation for growth through 2020 and beyond!

Ben Soukup, Chair of Gallaudet's Board of Trustees, announced that, "the Board of Trustees at its May 15 meeting unanimously—and very enthusiastically—approved a long-range strategic plan to guide the University from 2010-2015." President Davila affirmed that this plan, "gives Gallaudet the tools it needs to chart our future direction and help us maintain our status as the proud world leader in the education of the deaf and hard of hearing students." The president and the Management Team will immediately begin work to implement the plan.
